Welcome to Maui Upcountry Little League baseball 2010 Season!
I want to welcome back all of our returning MULL families, but I want to extend a special welcome to the families that are joining our League for the first time. I hope your experience with Maui Upcountry Little League will be everything you expect, and much more. MULL has been in existence for 26 years and is one of the many facets of living Upcountry!
Economic times have been felt by all of our families, and we want to assure all of you that your league is here to support all of you! If you are unable to pay the full registration amount, please let us know, and a payment plan can be developed for you.
This passed 2009 season was monumental for our league as we had 17 teams in our
T-Ball and Coach Pitch divisions - the most we ever had in these divisions ever! A testament to the growing number of players that make up our league!
MULL also hosted the District Major League Tournament at our Makawao fields, as well as the District Junior & Senior Division Tournament and the State Big League Tournament at the Iron Maehara Stadium. None of these events would have been possible if not for the dedication of our families who donated items to sell in our concession booths that fed the many teams, spectators and volunteers each day! Our Players & Parents volunteered countless hours of time working in the concession booths, running the scoreboards, score keeping, and announcing each of our games. Our volunteer pool also included members of the Central Maui Little League and Kihei Little League! We are very “Thankful” for the many volunteers who touch every aspect of our Players lives…… Maui County Dept. of Parks and Recreation strived to provide safe fields throughout the tournaments and season, so participants from across our state could enjoy. We proved why Maui is “No Ka Oi.”
Our Coach’s, are our pillars of strength and knowledge who volunteer endless hours of time and baseball skills on and off the field. Without them, our league would be nothing! As we begin our season, Please take a moment to “Thank” each of our team’s coach’s for stepping up to the plate and taking on these volunteer positions. If you can volunteer your time to be an Assistant Coach, Team Mom, Concession worker, Please let us know, and we will provide the necessary paperwork to make this happen.
All of our volunteers work very hard to make MULL the best youth sports program it can be, and to make your child’s experience a memorable one. We are only as strong as our volunteers; I urge each and every one of you to make time in your schedule to lend a hand when asked to help out. I can assure you that the reward you receive will far exceed the time spent!
Our league’s mission is to provide the ideals of sportsmanship, loyalty, honesty, and a positive competitive learning environment. Safety measures are in place as our league’s #1 PRIORTIY IS YOUR CHILD’S SAFETY! All volunteers are nationally background checked and provided with an ID as proof of being cleared.
Finally, I cannot thank the Board of Directors enough for giving of their time and talents to make Maui Upcountry Little League a success! Without the countless hours given by them, our League would not be the great place it is, where families Upcountry can spend time together, enjoying themselves in beautiful surroundings watching the great game of baseball. Let’s come together as one and make our 2010 season a great one! Let’s play ball!!!
Sincerely,
Lianne Ventura
